About the 8-Hour Basic Driver Improvement Course
The 8-Hour Florida Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) Course is required for certain drivers who have been ordered by a Florida court to complete additional driver education. This applies in cases involving multiple traffic violations or as directed by a judge.

- Drivers with two traffic citations within one year (Broward & Miami-Dade)
- Drivers wishing to avoid further penalties, probation, or license suspension

Course Format & Duration
This program is a total of 8 hours. When taken online, students may complete the course at their own pace.
State Approval
This course is approved by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) and meets requirements for all 67 Florida counties.
After Completion
Upon passing, your certificate will be available immediately and, when required, can be electronically transmitted to the appropriate court or county clerk.
